UPCLA | Who We Are
Welcome!

I am really glad that you are exploring our community of faith. Here at University Presbyterian Church, we are passionate about influencing lives by bringing people into the kingdom, building people up, and sending them forth.

Jesus gave them this answer: "I tell you the truth, the Son can do nothing by himself; he can do only what he sees his Father doing, because whatever the Father does the Son also does." [John 5:19]

We believe that we need to cooperate with God in bringing people into His kingdom and watch what He is doing. God is the one who draws people in and our task is to follow in His leading.

Bringing people into the kingdom is the first step in a lifelong process of Christian growth. A church is much more than the building. The strength of our church has always been its people: their time, energy, resources, and prayers. We are a family focused on building itself through Bible study, discipleship, service, character development, and fellowship.

Because we are an intergenerational university congregation, many have gone forth to minister to all parts of the world. In fact, our church has over 1200 alumni in places like China, Somalia, Brazil, Japan, Ghana, Singapore, Switzerland, Germany, South Africa, Mexico, Guam, Canada, France, Austria, Australia, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Thailand, Malaysia, Mongolia, Great Britain, and Korea.

Be sure to browse our website and check out the opportunities that are available in our community. If you need to speak to someone, please do not hesitate to call or e-mail. We hope to see you at our church!

In Him,

Reverend Dr. Soon Chung
Senior Pastor
