Bringing worship services to the elderly and disabled
Our Mission Statement: The Convalescent Ministry seeks to serve the elderly by nurturing their spirits and preparing them for Christ's return.
Despite their wealth of wisdom and love, the elderly are one of the most forgotten demographics in our society. In a joint effort with New Daybreak Ministry, UP seeks to build relationships with the seniors in our community by going out to convalescent homes in West LA to hold worship services for those unable to come to church on a Sunday. If you enjoy singing hymns, playing musical instruments, sharing from the Word, or just spending time with the elderly, this is a great opportunity for you to serve!
Currently, UP has three teams going to three different senior homes: Country Villa South, Country Villa Westwood, and Brentwood Healthcare.

We hold worship services at these locations on the 1st and 3rd Sundays of each month from 2:00-3:00pm. Carpool is available from UPC’s 2nd floor lobby at 1:30pm.

Bringing food and hope to the hungry
"'For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.'"
Matthew 25:35-36

The Salvation Army ministry takes this Word to heart and puts God's love into action by packing sack lunches for the hungry and handing them out to those in need on Venice Beach. Don't miss this opportunity to share food, conversation, and God's love with the less fortunate in our community!
Time: One Saturday a month @ 8:50am
Location: Meet in the 2nd floor lobby of church to carpool over to the Salvation Army in Santa Monica
