KOI began as a merger of the graduate and professional Bible study groups in September 2009. The respective leaders agreed that the combined experience and peer fellowship would be beneficial. It continues to be successful, as a majority of the members are proactively serving and growing within the church.
KOI got its name from the Greek word koinonia (meaning communion), referenced in Acts 2:42-47.
"They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to the communion, to the breaking of bread and to prayer...All the believers were together and had everything in common. Selling their possessions and goods, they gave to anyone as he had need…They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people."
This intimate form of fellowship and joint participation is what we desire in our cell group community as well. If you are a graduate student or a working professional who wishes to join us, please feel free to contact us! We hope to hear from you!
